New York Camping Equipment Rentals-Lightweight ThermaRest Pad For Rent-New York City Backpacking Mattress Pad Rental

Lightweight ThermaRest Pad rentals in New York City, NY. These pads offer a comfortable night rest on the tend floor. LowerGear offers backpacking accessories and camping supplies that are required for a comfortable and successful camping. There is more to a camping trip than just backpack, tents, sleeping bags and such. They offer the entire spectrum of gear you need for a pleasant backpacking or camping trip in New York City, Yonkers, Bronx, Baychester, Bedford Park, Bronxdale, City Island and all of New York.

These are insulated, self-inflating mattresses. Just open up a valve, go away, and a few minutes later it’s ready to hop on to (close the valve first). You can add more air pressure if you want by blowing into it – and most likely will need to - but there’s definitely no major effort required. To deflate, open the valve back up, “squish” out the air by rolling it up, close the valve, and insert the pad back into the stuff sack – takes only a few minutes.

The pads in this Lightweight Backpacking Series offer minimalist weight and a comfortable rest. We offer both ¾ and full-length versions. When you’re counting ounces on your back, but don’t want to give up a good night’s sleep, this is probably the best option they offer. This Series is also our recommended option for those that can crash out like a baby no matter what you’re resting on – no point in carrying any extra weight than is need to be comfortable – and for backpackers with smaller packs that are looking to minimize bulk.

The specs on the full-length pad include 1.5” thick, 72” long, and 20” wide at the shoulders. It weighs in at about 1.6 pounds. The difference with the ¾ version is that it is only about 47” long, which makes it the choice for the young ones, or those that don’t need full support or insulation under their feet. If you want a bit more comfort and cold-weather insulation and are willing to carry a few more ounces, go with the Standard Series or for even more comfort, our extra large pads.

The ThermaRest products they carry have earned many awards over the years, and are proven must-haves by campers and backpackers

Thermarest Mattress Pad Rental - Lightweight Mattress For Rent

I know you see the guys on Westerns throw down a saddle and a blanket and blissfully doze off. Don’t buy that myth. If you try to save a few bucks and plan to just sleep directly on the tent floor, you’ll be in for one miserable night. Our Thermarest pads are just the solution to keep the bumps out of your back and the chills off your spine.

When considering a mattress pad, it’s not just the comfort, but the insulation factor. Don’t believe it? Slide a little bit off the mat some chilly night and the cold ground will wake you up faster than a 65-year-old bladder. Generally, the thicker the mattress, the warmer you’ll be.
