The Best Places to Take the Boat on the East Coast

Who rents boatsThere are few activities better to do in the summer than boating. Whether you enjoy spending the day lounging on a pontoon boat or renting a boat for a little weekend fun, it’s fun to spend time relaxing on the water. While there are great places here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to go boating, there are a number of spots worth checking out on the East Coast as well.

Below, we’ve shared a list of favorites recently featured in Boating Magazine. Have fun!

Braun Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee, NH: Featuring a sand bar and shallow waters, this spot is a great place to hang out, swim, paddle board, or raft. Great for families or those looking to party.

World’s End, Hingham, MA: Located near Boston Harbor, this destination features a beautiful protected cover which is a great place to barbeque, lay out in the sun, and spend the day relaxing.

Cold Spring Harbor, NY: This spot, on the north shore of Long Island, has protected waters and is a perfect place to picnic, go tubing, or stay overnight. Be sure to check out Sand Hole and explore “the sandy shoals and calm waters.”

Morris Island, SC: Near downtown Charleston, this destination has two beaches that can only be reached by boat. Offering great views of Fort Sumter, Morris Island is a bit of a party beach on the weekends but offers a family-friendly strip of beach in the inlet on its other side.
