Top 7 Tips for Moving Moms-to-Be

Where to find portable storage units | Pac-Van

If you’ve ever had to pack up all of your belongings and move to a new space or place, you know that the process can be stressful, tiring, and mentally and physically draining. Now, imagine going through that whole ordeal as a pregnant mother. To help all of the pregnant moms out there who are planning to move before their due date, we’ve provided a list of helpful tips from Robyn Good of CelebBabyLaundry.com. Good luck with the move and congratulations!

Drink Up: Good recommends that moms-to-be drink plenty of water – around 100 ounces a day when on the go and in and out of the weather.

Don’t Lift: No matter how far you are along in your pregnancy, Good says that expecting moms shouldn’t be lifting boxes or furniture. Instead, grab a chair she says and direct where things go when they come off the truck.

Talk to Your Doctor: Because every pregnancy is different, Good says you should talk to your OB about moving and what guidelines you need to follow.

Listen to Your Body: Good says your body will tell you when it’s time to take a break to sit or eat or drink something. Don’t ignore those cues because they are important to the health of you and the baby.

Start Early: Good advises expecting mothers to start packing as soon as you know you are moving. You won’t be able to do much as you used to be able to do so starting early will allow you to get so much more done.

Get Your OB Records: Request a copy of your OB records and keep them with you while traveling in case of an emergency or if you need to see another doctor on the way.

Use the 4 Hour Rule: Sit down and relax every four hours and relax for 30 minutes with your feet up. If you are traveling, get up every four hours and stand and stretch for 15 minutes or more.
