Every once in awhile, we’ll post an article on a celebrity who has decided to put their home on the market or has purchased new digs somewhere in the world. The most recent big name to decide to part ways with a piece of real estate is former American League Cy Young Winner Barry Zito.
News of the listing, which is held by Decker Bullock Sotheby’s International Realty, was first reported by the Los Angeles Times earlier this week. The free agent pitcher, who last played for the San Francisco Giants after spending several years across the Bay in Oakland, won a pair of World Series titles with San Francisco and is also known to play a pretty mean guitar. All that, however, is in the past and now Zito is back in the news simply by putting a “For Sale” sign in his front yard.
According to an article by Realty Today, Zito has put his home in Kentfield, California on the market for $25,000 a month. For those who are looking for something a little more permanent, the property is for sale for $8.995 million. The 7,1116-square-foot Mediterranean house has four bedrooms and six baths and sits on two acres of land. A hillside estate, the home features hardwood floors, exposed beam ceilings, and glass walls which offer amazing views of the surrounding hills. Living spaces within the home include open drawing and dining areas and a modern kitchen. Outside, the property boats a pool, garden area, several recreation spaces, and a detached guest house.
Oddly enough, the house is the second Zito has listed this year. Zito, who once signed a $126 million contract, put his home in Hollywood Hills on the market for $4.37 million earlier this year. A few months later, the asking price for the home was dropped to $3.4 million and a sale is now pending.
