Well, we’re sure it was fun while it lasted. Last week, a Sonoma County teenager was arrested after he was pulled over while driving a 2012 McLaren coupe he had rented for $13,000. The McLaren, valued you at over $200,000, was subsequently reported stolen by its owner according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department.
The teen, Mohanned Halaweh, a former standout basketball player, also paid $27,000 to rent a $12 million estate in Glen Ellen. Prosecutors have charged Halaweh, who is being held at the Sonoma County Jail on $100,000 bail, with four felonies including credit card fraud, receiving stolen property, vehicle theft, and identity theft. The passenger in the stolen car was also arrested and could face charges.
Earlier this year, Halaweh was charged with using a fake credit card to try to buy 14 iPhones and two laptops at an Apple Store in Berkeley. We’re guessing this former baller won’t be taking another joy ride anytime soon.
