With anonymous origins, the list does have some suspicious entries–some non-music related. It should also be noted that the asking prices are from a third-party booking agency that specializes in college concerts. The prices are likely to be inflated and actual prices would typically be negotiated by the performers.

One of the largest touring acts on the list with an unusually low asking price is Pearl Jam, who will perform a private concert for the “low price” of $300-500k. A tenured rock act such as Pearl Jam asking for roughly the same fee as modern pop acts such as Pitbull and Nicki Minaj comes at a bargain considering the complexity of Pearl Jam’s extensive discography and decades long status as one of the best rock bands in the business. Even the record industries current alt-rock darling (creation), Imagine Dragons, is asking for $400-600k. That’s a confident proposal considering they only have one studio album under their belt. The most money you’ll spend on the list comes from world-wide touring juggernauts such as The Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake and Madonna–all asking a minimum of $1 million a piece. Some notable omissions from the list include The Rolling Stones, U2, AC/DC, Tony Bennett, and Paul McCartney–all of whom we can assume ask more than most can afford.
