Let’s face it. A summer trip abroad probably isn’t in the cards for most of us. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun here in the U.S. when the weather heats up. From California to New York, West Coast to East Coast, America is home to thousands of great spots to enjoy a little rest and relaxation. Having a little trouble deciding where to go? The folks at Wall St. Cheat Sheet have put together a list of their Top 10 U.S. Summer Vacation Spots. We’ve shared a few of our favorites from the list below:

Portland, OR: According to Wall St. Cheat Sheet, Portland offers a top notch farmers market, unique cafes, excellent micro-brews, and great restaurants. Enjoy playing outdoors? The beautiful summer weather in Portland makes it the perfect spot for bicycling or hiking. The city also offers an outstanding public transit system and tree-filled urban parks which make visits to this great city all the more enjoyable.

Chicago, IL: The warmer summer months in Chicago are perfect for spending some time enjoying the city’s beaches or taking a bike ride along Lake Michigan. A family-friendly destination, Chicago is also home to the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Willis Tower, which offers amazing views of the city from its sky deck. Need to re-fuel after a long day sightseeing? Fill up on deep dish pizza from Pizzeria Uno.

Sedona, AZ: Although not as well known as Portland or Chicago, Sedona’s Uptown features a variety of restaurants, hotels, shops, and public artworks. Other spots to visit include the Chapel of the Holy Cross, Church of the Red Rocks, and the art-gallery village of Tlaquepaque. The city also offers free trolleys on the first Friday of each month which take visitors to several galleries – including the Goldenstein Gallery – which feature pieces ranging from Western paintings to Navajo-inspired jewelry to contemporary pointillism, according to Wall St. Cheat Sheet.
