This February, well over a hundred thousand people, including celebrities, sports stars, and spectators, will make their way to New York City for the biggest sporting event of the year – the Super Bowl. Although there is no shortage of hotel space in the Big Apple, there are many who probably prefer a room within close proximity to MetLife Stadium in Rutherford.
A few weeks ago, we wrote about several residents in the area giving up their home during Super Bowl week for fans looking to rent a space during Super Bowl week. Prices for the units, which include everything from small apartments in Queens to luxury accommodations in Montclair, range from $760 to more than $5,000 per night.
With the New York Giants now out of the playoffs, another resident near the site of the biggest game of the year is offering his home for rent for the Super Bowl and has even taken as ad out on Craigslist. According to a story in the New York Post, Giants rookie Cooper Taylor and his girlfriend, real-estate broker Susan Carlson are renting out their New Jersey condo for $9,000 during Super Bowl week.
The condo, which features two bedrooms, two baths, and rooftop deck views of MetLife Stadium, is located in Rutherford just one mile from the venue. Other amenities include a 70-inch television and fully furnished living spaces. The couple, who met during their time at Georgia Tech and have been dating for four years, plan to go on a mini-vacation during what will likely be a circus for the big game. The condo can also be found on rental site Airbnb.
