The CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2011 will bring a little variety and feature safety and training-focused events along with trade-shows. Here’s a little taste of what’s planned for the event.
The Lift Safety Zone outdoor demonstration presents industry workers with the opportunity to receive expert advice on the safety procedures of cranes and lifts and view live machinery demonstrations. Construction can never be safe enough, so there’s good reason to attend these sessions.
The Crane and Rigging Conference is a crane rodeo held to promote education and saftey, as well as an opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Safety personnel and facility managers can also discuss real life scenarios in working with the equipment. It has a fun tone, but as usual there are important lessons to be learned.
The AEM Construction Challenge, an event that highlights construction careers and the importance of industry contributions to our quality of life, will feature 24 teenage student teams competing in the final event.
Finally, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association will hold the International Mixer Driver Championship. This competition includes a challege course for front and rear-mixer trucks and a walk-around vehicle inspection event.
The CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE will be held on March 22-26 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. The show will focus on construction, construction materials, fluid power, power transmission, and motor control technologies.
