Looking to grab the attention of those passing by the new Leroy Neiman Center, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has purchased 25 Christie MicroTiles to create works of art in each of the 16-foot tall windows on either side of the structure.

Unlike traditional video display boards and monitors, the new technology can be reconfigured into captivating shapes “providing artists with a digital canvas of almost limit shapes for their work,” said Craig Downs, director of media services at SAIC. Rather than being restricted to a rectangle or single screen, the modular products will enable students to “push the edges of ordinary artistic expectations,” according to Downs. The school’s plan is to use the versatile technology as both a teaching tool and its own exhibition space.

Excellent information! We are planning to host a special in June featuring bridal gowns for June brides. I will include this on our list and I think we can make use of this technology.
