College Signing Day 2013 Recognizes Focus and Accomplishment.
Rent It Today was proud to sponsor the second annual College Signing Day at Dayton High School in Dayton, Ky. which took place on Thursday, March 28, 2013.
At the College Signing Day assembly attended by the entire student body, 40 of the school’s 55 seniors took the stage with representatives from several universities, colleges and technical schools and signed a commitment to attend the school of their choice in the fall.
Guest speakers included Kentucky State Representative Dennis Keene, D-Wilder, and Jack Moreland, president of Southbank Partners, a collaboration of Northern Kentucky private citizens, business leaders, local government administrators and elected officials.
Both men applauded the graduates and stressed the importance of education.
Guidance Counselors Keep Students Focused
College Signing Day is the culmination of a guidance program at Dayton H.S. which is run by school counselor Jennifer Glass.

In order to qualify for College Signing Day, seniors must complete five requirements:
1. Attend senior conferences with Mrs. Glass to map and monitor progress.
2. Apply to at least one college by Christmas break.
3. Take a college tour with a representative of the college by the end of January.
4. Take the ACT at least one time in addition to when they took the test as juniors.
5. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
“This program is designed to assist students in learning about the whole college admissions and decision making process as well as teaching them to meet deadlines,” Glass commented. “A lot of schools recognize college bound scholarship athletes, and I wanted to give these students a similar experience.”
Rent It Today Pledges Continued Support
Rent It Today saluted the 40 seniors who took part in the program by providing a recognition luncheon for the soon-to-be graduates prior to the school assembly. Rent It Today was honored to sponsor the inaugural event in 2012, and plans to continue support of this very worthy program.
