Austin Formula 1 Race Propels Many Into The Rental Biz As Demand For Housing Revs Up

Austin Tx Formula 1 Grand Prix November 16-18, 2012

Formula 1 Grand Prix Opens New Track

Austin, Texas is preparing host the first Formula 1 race in the United States since 2007. The race will be held on November 16-18, 2012 at the recently constructed Circuit of The Americas race track. The $250 million dollar project is one of the most ambitious sports and entertainment venues built in the state of Texas, and will host a number of racing and other events.

The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix is predicted to attract as many as 300,000 people for each race, with an estimated economic impact of $400-500 million.

A Case of Supply And Demand

Part of that economic impact is being felt in the rental world. According to a story covered by Austin’s KXAN TV, demand for short term lodging rentals is very high, prompting many homeowners to capitalize on the demand by offering their entire homes, or rooms within them for rent.

A random online search of Austin Formula 1 Rentals will return hundreds of results from a wide variety of expected sites like Craigslist.com, vrbo.com and airbnb.com, as well as some not so expected sites, including Facebook. The demand for lodging has even spawned websites dedicated specifically to the event like austinracerentals.com.

Rentals for the event are offered from as far as 60 miles away. Rates vary from $24 a night to crash on a sofa with bathroom access, to thousands for luxury homes with full amenities. Some high end rentals are offering maid service, transportation, and even shuttle service from the airport as part of the rental package.

Some homeowners have listed with realtors, going so far as to post video tours online at sites like Youtube. Business is brisk, as hotels and BnB’s have been booked for months, leaving visitors to seek other places to rent for their visit to the event.

It would appear while Formula 1 drivers will be climbing into the cockpits of their sleek racing machines and racing around Austin’s new state of the art race track, entrepreneurs in the rental world will be riding the gravy train.

Virginia Ski Vacations in The Blue Ridge Mountains

Winter is on our heels which means its time to start planning your next Ski Vacation. Featuring winter ski resort destinations, is a popular theme on Rent It Today’s blog, as a result of all the related winter rental resources found at RentItToday.com. Today’s Travel Destination article takes us to the Shenandoah Valley, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in Virginia.  There are two great ski resorts in Central Virginia, Massanutten Ski Resort and Wintergreen Ski Resort.

Blue Ridge Mountain Ski Vacations

Stan Horst, owner of Cabin Creekwood, is an expert when it comes to planning a Virginia ski vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains…

Virginia Ski Vacation RentalsIt always amazes me when I talk to folks who think they have to go to West Virginia, or even further north, to find great skiing.  There are quite a number of ski resorts in the Southeastern United States, including a great option right here in Central Virginia.

Wintergreen Resort, voted “Best Ski Resort” two years running by the Washington Post, boasts 24 trails and 8 lifts with a total vertical drop of 1,003 feet.  The longest run is 1.4 miles long.  Trails from beginner to expert ensure you’ll have slopes to fit your experience level, and their lift capacity of 9,200 per hour helps to cut down wait time so you can ski more. Wintergreen has a number of lighted trails for those who enjoy night skiing. New to skiing?  Their “Guaranteed Learn To Ski & Ride” program for ages 6 and older promises that by the end of your first lesson, you’ll be turning, stopping, and riding a lift like a pro.  If not, you’re welcome to repeat the lesson at no charge.  Lessons are also available for all ages and skill levels, so if you’d like to improve your skiing or snowboarding skills, this is the place.

Other winter activities include a terrain park with rails, tabletops, spines, and hips for those wishing to learn or hone their freestyle skills.  The Plunge Tubing Park is Virginia’s largest tubing park, where riders zoom down a ten-story hill at speeds reaching 30mph, then relax while the conveyor transports rider and tube back to the top for another run.  Ridgely’s Fun Park is the perfect place for children to play in the snow, including a more gentle tubing slope.

After a day in the snow, rejuvenate your body and spirit at the Wintergreen Spa.  Services include massages, body wraps, skin care treatments, and nail care.  The Aquatics and Fitness Center provides cardiovascular and strength workout opportunities, plus additional ways to relax with heated pools, hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas.

When you’re hungry and looking for a place to eat, you can choose from the casual Copper Mine Bistro, the Devils Grill, the Edge Restaurant, or take a short drive to the Stoney Creek Bar & Grill.  With all these options, you’re sure to find something you like.

There are plenty of lodging opportunities within the resort, but for those folks wanting a quieter getaway away from the crowds, Cabin Creekwood, located just 3 miles from Wintergreen’s entrance, provides fully furnished VA mountain cabins. These cabin rentals in Virginia provide all the comforts of home while helping you to escape from the routines of life, and enjoy the great outdoors without roughing it.  Choose from a pre-Civil War log cabin all the way to a modern mountain home.  With sizes from one to three bedrooms, Cabin Creekwood can accommodate groups of varying numbers, at prices significantly less than you’ll find in the resort.

The best way to enjoy winter sports for less is to visit midweek and to stay at Cabin Creekwood.  Prices are lower for both your lodging and your lift tickets, and the crowds will be much smaller, making your time on the slopes more fun and productive.

Whether you are looking for ski resort vacation lodging, interested in renting a snowmobile, or need ski equipment rentals, Rent It Today is a great resource for planning your next ski vacation.

Hilton Head Island Vacation Rentals

Hilton Head Island Vacations Combine Sea, Sport, and So Much More

Finding the perfect vacation destination might sound like a lot of work, but it really should be easy.  Take Hilton Head Island, for example.  Sitting just off the South Carolina coast, this pristine island stretches twelve miles wide and five miles long.  While Hilton Head’s footprint might sound small, this magical island packs in a whole lot of activity while keeping the natural environment as a top priority.  And plenty of people seem to agree as Hilton Head has been named one of the top ten family beaches in the country.  There is a tremendous variety of Hilton Head Island Vacation Rentals available, ensuring one can find the perfect holiday accommodation.  So, just what are all these folks raving about?

Life is a beach, and a whole lot more. Beaches are popular vacation spots for obvious reasons, and Hilton Head Island certainly celebrates its beach culture.  Sandy shores give vacationers plenty of opportunities to fill their days.  While some prefer to sun bathe and stroll along the shore, others opt to duck waves, build sand castles, or join in on a beach volleyball game.  But, beyond the beach’s enchantment, Hilton Head provides so much more, starting with its fifty miles of public bike and nature trails.  Bike rentals are easy to come by in Hilton Head and allow visitors to explore marshy forests, friendly beach neighborhoods, and several of Hilton Head’s plantations, or planned communities.  If you are disabled and need a wheelchair to get around, have no fear their are companies that provide Hilton Head Island beach wheelchair rentals. While biking and beaching are two of the most popular activities in Hilton Head, there’s still plenty of other ways to fill the day on the island.  Choose from windsurfing, water-skiing, kayaking, sailing, fishing and crabbing, dolphin watching, or parasailing, to name only a few.  And, of course, keep in mind that Hilton Head is a premier golf destination.  More than twenty golf courses offer vacationers unmatched choice in some of the county’s most beautiful environment.

Nights out begin at Happy Hour. Hilton Head is serious about food, drink, and entertainment.  Sea Pines is home to theHilton Head Island Sunset, South Carolina world famous Salty Dog Café, a waterfront restaurant that has become an institution of sorts in Hilton Head.  Children’s entertainment, happy hour specials, and live music are just a few of the daily items served up at the Salty Dog, but this sort of menu travels all over Hilton Head.  Jump over to Harbor Town, for example, and sit under Hilton Head’s landmark lighthouse on the Quarterdeck’s massive outdoor patio.  Happy hour is the best time to hit up this spot as live music is perfectly paired with frozen drinks and crab leg specials that accompany a harbor sun set.  Still, these are only two of Hilton Head’s 250 restaurants, each of which offers something unique and memorable for the whole family.  If you are planning a family vacation or traveling with babies then contact a Hilton Head Island baby gear rental company for all the baby equipment needed.

Natural environment creates spectacular results. Beyond the shopping, dining, and endless activities that Hilton Head offers, the true beauty of this island is in the natural environment itself.  While Hilton Head is certainly a spot that draws many visitors, the island doesn’t give itself away to tourism, and that’s a very rare trait in a top beach destination.  Hilton Head prides itself on maintaining its natural environment and preserving it for many generations to come.  While this is evident in the areas marked for biking, nature walks, or bird watching, it’s clearly a part of the entire island’s design.  First, because the island is separated into private plantations, visitors have the opportunity to spend their vacation time in quiet, private communities that resists over development.  Additionally, because the focus of the island is on nature, glorious oaks dripping in Spanish Moss will line community streets rather than one tourist shop after another.

Whether you’re planning your vacation with a focus on the beach, the nightlife, the activity, or the natural beauty,  Hilton Head Island is the place to unwind and enjoy everything, or nothing at all.

Travel to Shenandoah Valley and Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains

Fresh air, breath taking mountain views, unlimited outdoor activities, and a chance to get away from the daily grind are all part of traveling to The Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia.  Today’s article features The Shenandoah Valley, a popular vacation destination in the mountains of Central Virginia, along with vacation cabin rentals in the area.  Shenandoah Valley Cabin Rentals with Mountain Views

Enjoy the Outdoor Wonders of Central Virginia

People who love outdoor activities will not find a better place to vacation – or to live – than Central Virginia.   There are so many things to do and natural wonders to explore, you’ll never tire of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

When Stan Horst moved to Central Virginia 20 years ago, he found the perfect place to live.  Stan and his wife, Debbie, a Virginia native, own and operate Cabin Creekwood, a vacation rental business near Waynesboro.

Novice and expert hikers alike will find trails to suit their preference for a walk in the woods or a serious hike while taking in views from a mountain top or a cascading waterfall.  Some of the options for hiking are:

•    The Appalachian Trail covers over 2100 miles from Maine to Georgia and is the nation’s longest marked footpath.   The Appalachain Trail in Central Virginia crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway a number of times and can be easily accessed just two miles from Cabin Creekwood.
•    Humpback Rocks Trail leads to Humpback Rocks, to Humpback Mountain and to the Humpback Rocks picnic area.  From this trail, ambitious hikers take a spur trail to a strenuous 700 foot climb providing amazing views of the Rockfish and Shenandoah Valleys.  Continuing one more mile, hikers reach the summit of Humpback Mountain with views of the mountain ridges to the north.
•    Spy Rock Trail is one of the Horst’s favorite hikes just for the incredible views offered.   According to legend, Confederate Soldiers used Spy Rock as a lookout for Union Troops.  Once you reach Spy Rock you’ll understand why.
•    Crabtree Falls is said to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Virginia and the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi.   This natural wonder with five cascades is definitely a must-see for visitors to the area.  Anyone can enjoy Crabtree Falls as the first cascade is handicapped accessible.  After walking to the bottom of the lowest falls, the trail becomes dirt and you are on one of nine switchbacks that take you to the top of the Falls.  With guardrails on the steeper parts, the trail is well maintained and there are railed observation points for the most scenic overlooks.  It may be tempting to climb over the stone wall to the uppermost falls but resist the urge as the rocks are covered with algae and are very slippery.
•    Torry Ridge Trail is 7 miles long and follows the crest of Torry Ridge, providing great views of wilderness areas.

Caverns are a popular tourist destination in the Shenandoah Valley.  The closest caverns to Cabin Creekwood, Grand Caverns, are less commercialized than many similar cavern attractions perhaps due to being operated by a regional park authority.  Stan often recommends Grand Caverns as his personal favorite.  The Cathedral Hall, which is 289 feet long and over 70 feet high, is an awesome sight with its massive columns, rippling flowstone, and rare “shield” formations.  This cave was visited by both Confederate and Union Soldiers and has over 230 verified signatures of Civil War soldiers.

Luray Caverns are perhaps the best known caverns in Virginia attracting people from all over North America and more than 50 foreign countries.   Well-lighted walkways wind through huge chambers with breathtaking stalactites and cathedral sized rooms then lead to mirror-perfect pools of water.  Guides at Luray share stories about the science behind the natural wonders and how the caverns were discovered.   This is the home of the world’s only “stalacpipe organ” which plays haunting music on natural formations.

Wee Travel Baby Equipment Rentals (Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria) launched in 2005 as Canada’s first baby equipment rental company. Over the years, the company has sought out new products and innovative ways to make it safer, easier, and less stressful for families to fly with small children. The company recently opened The Modage, a beautiful furnished vacation rental in Kitsilano. After hearing customers remark over and over again how difficult it is to stay in hotels with small children, Wee Travel decided a vacation rental property was the solution. A fully equipped kitchen, fridge, stove, laundry facilities and baby gear such as a crib, highchair, carseat, stroller and toys were all key desires of their customers. The Modage was converted to a furnished vacation rental in August 2009. It’s stunning and welcomes kids and pets. The 1300 square foot townhouse is located in one of the most desirable areas of the city, and is within walking distance to Kits beach, Granville Island and a variety of trendy shopping areas and kids parks/water parks. It comes complete with a crib and highchair if required, and a full range of baby gear can be provided for a minimal cost. Now that’s what we call the “stress free” route to Vancouver.

Vacationing in Summit County: Colorado’s Winter Playground

Have you hit the slopes yet this ski season?  If not, consider heading to “Colorado’s Winter Playground”.  This second part to our series on Colorado travel and vacation destinations features the ski resorts and towns of Summit County, Colorado.

Breckenridge, Colorado in Summit County

Breckenridge, Colorado

Summit County is Colorado’s Winter Playground

It’s not hard to understand why Summit County is Colorado’s most popular ski and snowboard destination.  Boasting the four world-class ski resorts of Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain, Summit County is Colorado’s hot spot for winter sports.  Plus, the multitude of lodging and shopping options in the towns of Frisco, Silverthorne, and Dillon make planning a vacation to Summit County affordable and convenient.  So, exactly what can you expect from a trip to Summit?

Limitless Skiing Options: Each Summit County ski resort offers its own claim to fame.  With a summit elevation of 13,050 feet, Arapahoe Basin boasts the highest ski-able terrain in all of North America.  Expert and advanced skiers & boarders appreciate the resort’s 25% of terrain devoted to double black diamond trails, mixed with another 25% of black diamonds.  Beginners, however, might prefer Breckenridge’s dedicated beginner trails.  Among its four peaks, Breck has some great beginner spots right alongside its own technically challenging ski and snowboard trails.  Additionally, Breckenridge not only holds the honor of winning Summit County’s award for best ski resort, it also features the highest chairlift in North America.  The largest ski resort in Summit County, Copper Mountain sports expert bowls, terrain parks, and more than 2,400 acres of thrilling skiing and boarding.  It’s no wonder Copper was voted Summit County’s best snowboarding mountain in both 2007 and 2008.  Terrain parks are no joke at Keystone either.  Keystone’s A51 Terrain Park was ranked #4 in all of North America by Transworld Snowboard Magazine.  Plus, with night skiing, hike to bowl skiing, and a range of terrain devoted to skiers and boarders of all levels, Keystone is a popular Summit County choice.

Snowmobile Rentals:  Take a break from the slopes and enjoy the expansive back country trails throughout Summit County with snowmobile rentals.  ATV and Snowmobile Rental companies, like Colorado Backcountry Rentals, offer snowmobiles for both single and double riders.  When it comes to renting snowmobiles in Summit County,  you’ll find knowledgeable outfitters convenient to the popular ski resorts and mountain towns of Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone , Dillon, and Frisco.

Convenience: Summit County’s close proximity to Denver is just another reason why it’s such a popular ski destination.  Just 70 miles west of Denver, Summit County is easily accessible from the Denver International Airport and is a straight shot via I-70.  Fly into Denver, rent a limousine, and take the short trek to your ski resort destination in style.  While each ski resort has its own amenities and lodging options, the nearby mountain towns of Frisco, Dillon, and Silverthorne also provide top notch lodging and convenience options.  Between Victorian Main Street shopping & dining in Breckenridge, a galore of Outlet Factory Stores in Silverthorne, and all the local bars & entertainment venues throughout the county, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy when you’re not hitting the slopes.

Colorado’s Playground:  Summit County has been coined Colorado’s playground for good reason.  Powder days provide plenty of reasons to celebrate all winter long.  And, Summit County certainly knows how to celebrate.  There’s always something exciting on the calendar to anticipate and partake in true Summit County style, from Breckenridge’s International Snow Sculpture Championship to the Keystone Winter Culinary Festival.   Of course, Colorado’s playground wouldn’t be complete without tremendous lodging options that offer all the comforts of home but with a spectacular Rocky Mountain backdrop.  Condos, townhomes, and large vacation homes fill Summit County with choices for every traveling group, including friends, couples, and large families.  Whether you are traveling to Breckenridge for your dream ski vacation, staying in  Keystone, planning a holiday trip to Dillon, or visiting the neighboring  mountain town of Silverthorne, you will find the perfect ski-in/ski-out condo, luxury home, or cabin for your vacation. Plus, rental options make traveling easy. Choose to pack light and rent everything from your ski equipment to your baby’s playpen once you get to town.  If you are disabled and in need of a transportable wheelchair, powerchair or mobility scooter rental in Colorado there are several reliable companies with experience in accommodating your needs.

Remember, the snow is falling in Colorado.  Why not explore the place that gives you the option of four world-class ski resorts, convenience, easy access, and plenty of lodging options?  Once you get to Summit County, you won’t know how you got through winters without visiting this gem in Colorado .
