Earlier this month, we wrote about Vow to be Chic, an online start-up that offers bridesmaid dresses and gowns for rent. Over the last year, a handful of similar sites have popped up, riding the coattails of Rent the Runway, the first notable company in this space.

One of those sites is Little Borrowed Dress which recently raised $1.25 million in seed funding from a group of investors including Index Ventures, NYC Seed, Andreessen Horowitz, and David Tisch. Little Borrowed Dress rents a line of bridesmaid dresses that it designs and manufacturers in New York City online for as little as $50.

The start-up offers a curated collection of 12 classic styles in 18 colors that are designed to fit and flatter all body types without expensive alterations. To simplify the ordering process, Little Borrowed Dress offers several “bride-friendly” features including online wedding albums for brides to view photos of past customers wearing the dresses. Brides can also request fabric swatches and colors before placing an order, according to Tech Crunch.

Finally, to put the bride’s mind at ease, the company guarantees availability for all orders placed at least eight weeks before the wedding date and delivers the dresses two weeks before the big day. Rental dresses start at $50 for a cocktail length style while full-length gowns are available for $75 for a two-week rental period. All dresses can also be purchased new.
