When Mike Deming set out to design the best beach wheelchair chair it was Karen, his wife, that he had in mind. In 1990, 8 months after they were married, a car accident left Karen a quadriplegic. Mike was determined to make sure Karen enjoyed life to the fullest after the accident. Her need for special seating requirements led to the creation of the first beach wheelchair prototype in 1994. De-Bug and their beach wheelchairs have come a long way since then. Its certainly a plus when the manufacturer of an item is also a user as in the case of the Demings. Every detail has been carefully thought out. From the De-Bug’s beach wheelchairs ability to easily fit through a 36" doorway, to the maneuverability provided by castering rear wheels, the design was designed to provide efficient and comfortable transportation.
