Honda was founded in the late 1940s by Soichiro Honda. What began as a business specializing in the manufacturing of piston rings would evolve into an assembly hub for inexpensive motorcycle production. After the Second World War, Japan struggled immensely to regain semblance of normalcy after being bombed. The need for affordable transportation was imminent, so two-stroke motors on bicycles became the norm. Honda himself would fine-tune his creation to capture the company's first Grand Prix victories in the 125 and 250 cc classes in 1961. Since then, Honda motorcycles have won six world championships at the Motorcross World Championship and captured eight titles at the World Enduro Championship.
