Camera Body, Digital Camera Rental

Cameras for Rent

With any picture taking endeavor, you need to start with a basic camera body. The camera body is the primary portion of the digital camera that most everybody owns. Located within the body are find the camera controls, the LCD, the internal image processor, and the associated circuitry. The body of a camera is usually roughly in the shape of a rectangle and often contains a built-in lens. The lens found in a digital camera is similar to that found in beginner-level and point and shoot cameras. With an advanced camera body, however, the lenses may have the ability to be removed from the body. Lenses with this capability are known as interchangeable lenses.

There are numerous companies that develop and sell camera and digital camera bodies. Some of the more commonly known camera manufactureres include Canon and Nikon. When you are ready to secure your camera rental, check out Rent It Today's inventory for more information on these and other cameras.

Camera Lens Rentals, Fisheye Lens, Telephoto & Wide Angle Lens Rental

Camera Lens Rentals

After the correct camera body for your photography needs is selected, next comes the right lens choice. A camera lens is the “eye” of a camera. It allows it to see the outside world. It works a lot like a human eye, in that light passes through the lens and is focused on the film or image sensor of a digital camera.

Depending on what type of photo you are trying to capture, there are several different lens choices that can be made. From a design perspective, a wide angle lens is one that will project a substantially larger image circle than would be typical for a standard design lens of the same focal length.

A fisheye lens is an extremely wide-angle camera lens. This wide angle results in a curved image that represents subjects from a very broad field of vision. Another lens option is the telephoto lens. This lens functions much like a telescope by narrowing the scene and bringing subjects closer to view.

A photographer may also want to add a teleconverter to the camera body. A teleconverter is a secondary lens which is mounted between the camera and a photographic lens to help enlarge the central part of an image obtained by the objective lens. Whichever lens is chosen can better help the photographer capture the intended feelings and surroundings of the subject being photographed.

Rent Camera Lighting, Camera Flash Rental, Light Meter Equipment

rent a camera flash

Just as important as the subject in a picture is the lighting. The correct lighting can sometimes make or break the quality of a photograph. The proper lighting can be achieved in several ways.

Camera light meters, also called exposure meters, provide valuable information for photographers. Light meters measure the intensity of the illumination, but do not evaluate it as bright or dark. A hand held meter will gauge specific points on a subject or scene. An in-camera meter will equalize a light reading by measuring the luminosity of every object toward which the camera is pointed. A flash light can also be used for illumination of an object or area.  A flash is a device used in photography producing a flicker of artificial light. The major purpose of a flash is to illuminate a dark scene.

Light shaping can also be effective in photography. Light shaping involves making the light bigger or smaller. Bigger lights produce softer lighting, and smaller ones create harder lighting. Light shaping can be achieved by using reflective umbrellas. Softboxes can also be used to manipulate lighting, and come in all shapes and sizes. They replace the reflector that would normally be fitted to the flash head by spreading the light around inside the box which in turns evens out and diffuses the light. Light stands are also useful and important when different angles of subjects are needed. Light stands can provide a “looking straight down” on a subject view that otherwise couldn’t be achieved.

One example of a camera accessory is a lens mount. A lens mount is an interface, mechanical or electrical piece located between the camera body and the lens, and are available in a number of formats. A tripod is an accessory used to stabilize and elevate a camera, or to support flashes or other equipment. Photographic tripods have three legs and a mounting head to couple with a camera. Further accessories include a memory card, also known as a flash card, is an electronic flash memory data storage device used for storing digital information.
