Property Description
Denver Pet Supply Rentals–Front Extension Pet Wheelchair–Colorado Dog Carts for Rent
Pet Wheelchair Rental Program:
Front Extension Cart (80% supportive) – for pets with rear limb weakness and some weakness in front limbs. Similar to the Two-Wheel Cart but with two caster wheels and an abdominal strap added to the front to provide extra support for the front limbs.
The front caster wheels are used for guiding the cart and are limited as to the surface they can roll over. They are not suitable for rugged terrain.
The Cart Rental Program was created to give pet owners a viable alternative to cart purchase. It’s an inexpensive, quick and easy way to get your pet into a brand-new, customized cart and back on its feet.
What is the program?
The Cart Rental Program is a way to rent a wheelchair on a week-to-week basis and provide your mobility-impaired pet with immediate assistance. The first step is to choose which wheelchair is best for your pet. Choose from the options below:
* Two Wheel Cart – for pets with rear limb weakness and very strong front limbs
* Front Extension Cart (80% supportive) – for pets with rear limb weakness and some weakness in front limbs
* Quad Cart (Four-wheel, 100% supportive) - for pets with severe weakness in all four limbs
Why would I want to rent a wheelchair?
* So that you can pay for it weekly rather than all at once
* With a rental you can return the wheelchair at any time
* So your pet can “test drive” it – to determine suitability
How long can I rent the wheelchair?
You can rent the wheelchair for as long as you want or as recommended by your veterinarian.
Will I ever own the wheelchair?
Yes. Once you have paid the full purchase price of the wheelchair you will own it.
Is there a minimum rental period on the lease?
Yes. There is a two week minimum for Two-Wheel and Front Extension Carts and a three week minimum for Quad Carts.
What are the benefits of using a wheelchair?
• Using a cart hastens rehabilitation and return to mobility.
• Provides either full support or allows minimal weight bearing to protect your pet’s limbs after surgery.
• Exercise in the cart encourages blood flow and promotes healing.
• Keeps you pet mobile, active and happy during recovery.
• Reduces the incidence of bed sores, urinary infections and the need for prolonged cage rest.
• Prevents your pet from falling, or dragging itself around, which often prolongs recovery.
• Protects your pet from further injury, reduces your stress and worry, and makes nursing care easier.
• If your vet prescribes your pet’s wheelchair, most pet insurance will pay the cost of renting a cart.
What circumstances and/or medical conditions do you recommend this program for?
The Cart Rental Program is ideal for rehabilitation (short or long term), pre or post surgery and for pets with the following medical conditions:
* Spinal injury, as long as your pet is not in pain
* After knee or hip surgery
* Embolism/stroke
* Weight reduction prior to surgery
* T-L disc (post-surgery)
* Fractured back
* Hip Dysplasia (post-surgery)
* Cruciate (ACL)
