Rent It Today was conceptualized by Jason Glass, when he found himself with a vacant rental property he needed desperately to get rented. He tried placing an ad in the local paper, but quickly discovered the cost to list a property for two weeks was more than the mortgage payment.
Certain there had to be a better way, Jason started calling other investors to find out how they were marketing their vacant properties. They had the same problem - newspaper ads were too expensive, and there was no better solution.
The problem got him thinking - in today's technologically savvy society, why not use the Internet, not only for his property, but for other properties for rent, too?
Jason seized the opportunity and contacted a good friend, Matt Stephenson, to discuss his idea. The discussion led to an instant business partnership.
The original idea was to provide investors and potential customers the best of both worlds by producing a full color magazine with houses for rent and providing an interactive website so people could easily review properties online. In January, 2007 Rent It Today was born and by October of 2007, Rent It Today proudly produced the first full color magazine for Residential and Commercial Properties For Rent. The magazines were distributed at small and large retailers and directed people to the burgeoning website.
While the magazine was getting attention throughout the Ohio and Northern Kentucky markets, Matt and Jason saw a bigger future for their company. With so many diverse rental markets across the country renting everything from homes to baby strollers, there seemed to be a need for a company that could provide quick and easy access for potential customers and allow businesses an easy, inexpensive way to advertise their products to a much larger market.
This dream quickly grew into a reality as the number of listings began to increase exponentially. Listings on Rent It Today.com are now published exclusively online and the market has expanded across the United States.
